Human Resources Assistant (Remote)
Mercor is seeking a highly organized and detail-focused Human Resources Assistant to support the development of cutting-edge large language models (LLMs). In this contract role, you’ll use your real-world experience in HR administration—ranging from onboarding and documentation to benefits and hiring logistics—to help ensure AI systems understand and reflect accurate, industry-relevant HR practices.
Your insights will directly influence how artificial intelligence interprets and responds to key HR functions in corporate, nonprofit, and public-sector settings.
Position Overview
Key Responsibilities:

Create and refine HR-related prompts to train and assess AI language models

Apply your HR knowledge to ensure accuracy and realism in AI-generated content

Review and compare AI outputs, selecting the most appropriate and effective responses
-
Participate in writing assessments and asynchronous projects that enhance model performance
Ideal Candidate
You’ll thrive in this role if you:

Bring 3+ years of experience in general HR roles (excluding payroll or timekeeping functions)

Hold a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field

Live in the U.S., U.K., or Canada

Have hands-on experience with:

Personnel file management
-
Onboarding paperwork and processes
-
Benefits enrollment assistance
-
Interview scheduling and coordination
-
Employment verification handling
-
Responding to HR support requests
-

Possess excellent written communication and grammar skills
-
Demonstrate a high level of precision, organization, and attention to detail
Position Details

Hours: 10–20 hours per week to start, with the option to increase to 40 hours

Schedule: 100% remote and fully flexible (asynchronous work environment)

Contract Length: Minimum commitment of 1–2 months, with possible extension

Start Date: Mid-to-late July; applications reviewed as they are received
Interview Process
Applicants will participate in a brief AI-focused assessment, including:

Creating a sample training prompt based on an HR scenario

Reviewing and analyzing AI-generated responses
-
Selecting and justifying the most accurate and appropriate output
Candidates will be evaluated on their HR knowledge, writing clarity, and evaluative reasoning.
