Data Analyst (Remote) TalentAlly
At CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, data plays a crucial role in driving smarter, faster decisions that improve healthcare outcomes. We are seeking a Data Analyst to join our Healthcare Analytics team. In this role, you’ll transform complex data into actionable insights that support strategic initiatives and empower teams across the organization.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct data exploration using SQL and Python across multiple database environments

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business and technical requirements for data-driven solutions

Document methodologies and deliverables according to professional standards

Analyze and interpret operational and analytical data flows to identify patterns and opportunities

Serve as a subject matter expert on data-related questions and issues
-
Design, develop, and validate data assets and dashboards that drive business decisions
-
Translate complex data into clear insights and practical recommendations for business units
Required Qualifications
-
Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business, or a related field
-
OR 4+ additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
-

Experience:
-
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in data analysis or a related field

Technical Proficiency:
-
SQL (Snowflake, SQL Server, or equivalent)
-
Power BI (including Report Builder)
-
Microsoft Excel (including advanced functions, pivot tables, Power Query)
-
Python for data exploration and transformation
-
Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric (e.g., dataflows, OneLake)

Preferred Qualifications

Background in healthcare or health insurance analytics
-
Experience with big data or NoSQL platforms
-
Proficiency in data storytelling and dashboard design
-
Exposure to modeling techniques (e.g., trend, segmentation, cohort analysis)

Strong understanding of data quality, governance, and integrity

Curiosity and a problem-solving mindset with attention to detail

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

Compensation & Benefits
This position offers a competitive salary ranging from $73,656 to $146,289, based on experience, location, education, and internal equity. Additional benefits include:
