Data Analyst II – United States – Remote

Join our Route Analysis and Selection (RAS) team as a Data Analyst II – GIS and play a key role in turning complex datasets into meaningful strategies. In this role, you’ll evaluate proposed service areas and routes to inform facility planning, design, permitting, and construction efforts.

Remote Position
Available in over 40 states across the U.S., wherever TDS Telecom operates.

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $58,900 – $95,700 per year

  • Compensation is determined based on experience, skills, geographic location, and other relevant criteria.

What You’ll Be Doing

Insightful Reporting

  • Convert operational and geographic data into actionable intelligence that informs telecom infrastructure development.

  • Create reports and visualizations using tools like SQL, FOCUS, Oracle APEX, Business Objects, and more.

  • Align deliverables with internal data standards and stakeholder needs.

Operational Execution

  • Manage personal work queues efficiently, maintaining timelines and service standards.

  • Set and communicate realistic due dates with stakeholders.

  • Ensure detailed documentation accompanies all data tasks and requests.

Process Optimization

  • Contribute to the development of internal procedures, documentation protocols, and reporting templates.

Technical Collaboration

  • Participate in project teams to help define reporting and analytical requirements.

  • Assist in developing data products that enhance operational effectiveness.

What You Bring

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree OR a minimum of 4 years of professional work experience.

Preferred:

  • Degree or certification in GIS or related technical field.

  • Experience using GIS platforms like ESRI, ArcPro, ArcMap, AGOL, or 3GIS.

  • Familiarity with Python scripting and Microsoft Office tools.

  • Working knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL for data querying and transformation.

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects with precision and meet deadlines.

  • Strong analytical thinking and the ability to derive insights from large datasets.

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for working with teams and documenting processes.

  • Understanding of telecom-related processes, contracts, or tariffs is a plus.
