Data Analyst at Reddit – Remote

About the Role
We’re hiring a skilled and motivated Analytics Engineer to support Reddit’s Safety initiatives within our Data Science organization. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how Reddit collects, processes, and activates data to protect our platform and its communities.
As a bridge between engineering and data science, you’ll architect systems that drive operational visibility, scale safety operations, and help inform policy decisions. You’ll collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, trust & safety teams, and product stakeholders to deliver high-quality data pipelines, tools, and insights.
Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary Analytics Engineering expert for Reddit’s Safety efforts, leading initiatives that improve data integrity, quality, and accessibility.

Design, build, and refine robust ETL/ELT pipelines to support high-quality data ingestion, transformation, and storage for use in safety operations and analytics.

Collaborate with engineering to ensure reliable data sources, optimized data workflows, and scalable infrastructure.

Develop and maintain internal data tools, dashboards, and reusable frameworks to enable cross-functional teams to self-serve data efficiently.

Promote a culture of data-driven decision-making and self-service across Reddit’s safety ecosystem.

Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical support to junior data practitioners and partners.

Act as a strategic partner to engineering managers, product leads, and data scientists, helping define the future of Reddit’s data capabilities in the Trust & Safety domain.
Qualifications
Required:
-
Proven experience in Trust & Safety or related fields with data responsibilities.
-
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Math, Economics).

4+ years working with large-scale data systems, particularly in designing and maintaining production-level ETL pipelines.

Strong hands-on experience in SQL, Python, Spark, Scala, or similar languages and frameworks.

Deep understanding of data modeling principles, data governance, and best practices for scalable, maintainable data systems.

Experience working with massive structured and unstructured datasets.

Familiarity with data orchestration tools such as Airflow, and dashboarding tools like Looker, Tableau, or Streamlit.

Ability to explain complex data topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Demonstrated experience mentoring peers and leading collaborative technical efforts.
Preferred:

Master’s or Ph.D. in a quantitative discipline.

Background working closely with data scientists, ML engineers, and product teams on shared data goals.

Compensation Transparency
Base salary for this role ranges between $190,800 – $267,100 USD. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, and job level. Equity and performance-based incentives may also be included in your offer.
