Position Summary: Data Analyst

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Data Analyst to join our team. This position is pivotal in building and maintaining our data analytics framework, providing insights that will guide strategic and operational initiatives across our campuses in California and Arizona.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including IT and corporate leadership, to deliver impactful data solutions that support students, faculty, and staff. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong analytical capabilities, and can clearly communicate technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Core Responsibilities

  • Partner with department leaders to define data needs and transform them into clear, actionable insights.

  • Build and maintain custom dashboards and reports to support both day-to-day operations and strategic planning.

  • Act as a primary point of contact for data-related inquiries across departments.

  • Analyze data sets to uncover trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvement.

  • Contribute to the design of our evolving reporting infrastructure by creating visually intuitive dashboards.

  • Evaluate reporting requests, assess feasibility, and offer suitable data-driven solutions.

  • Work alongside the IT Director and Data Integration Developer to align business goals with technical capabilities.

  • Support system management tasks such as data quality checks, identifying and resolving duplicates, and managing system changes.

  • Ensure that all data outputs align with internal standards and service-level agreements.

  • Create and maintain documentation for data processes, definitions, and workflows.

  • Assist in producing procedural documentation for analytics and cross-departmental use.

  • Become an expert user of the analytics tools and platforms deployed at Smith Chason College.

  • Attend meetings and collaborate regularly with stakeholders, including administrators and department heads.

  • Be available for occasional travel to California and Arizona campuses when necessary.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Data Analytics, Information Technology, Decision Sciences, or Business Intelligence.

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in a data analysis or reporting role.

  • Strong understanding of analytics methodologies, data systems, and business intelligence tools.

  • Proficient in Power BI, SQL, and OData.

  • Experience conducting fit-gap analyses and evaluating software solutions.

  • Proven ability to design, develop, and validate accurate, business-aligned reports.

  • Familiarity with higher education platforms such as Anthology Student, VerityIQ, Orbund Einstein, or Microsoft Azure is a plus.

  • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.

  • Strong commitment to customer service and ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Position Details

  • Work Schedule: Monday through Friday

  • Work Arrangement: Primarily remote with occasional on-site visits

  • Reporting To: IT Director

  • Travel: Occasional travel to campus locations in CA and AZ may be required
