Data Analyst (Remote) TalentAlly

At CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, data plays a crucial role in driving smarter, faster decisions that improve healthcare outcomes. We are seeking a Data Analyst to join our Healthcare Analytics team. In this role, you’ll transform complex data into actionable insights that support strategic initiatives and empower teams across the organization.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct data exploration using SQL and Python across multiple database environments

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business and technical requirements for data-driven solutions

  • Document methodologies and deliverables according to professional standards

  • Analyze and interpret operational and analytical data flows to identify patterns and opportunities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on data-related questions and issues

  • Design, develop, and validate data assets and dashboards that drive business decisions

  • Translate complex data into clear insights and practical recommendations for business units


Required Qualifications

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business, or a related field

    • OR 4+ additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in data analysis or a related field

  • Technical Proficiency:

    • SQL (Snowflake, SQL Server, or equivalent)

    • Power BI (including Report Builder)

    • Microsoft Excel (including advanced functions, pivot tables, Power Query)

    • Python for data exploration and transformation

    • Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric (e.g., dataflows, OneLake)


Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in healthcare or health insurance analytics

  • Experience with big data or NoSQL platforms

  • Proficiency in data storytelling and dashboard design

  • Exposure to modeling techniques (e.g., trend, segmentation, cohort analysis)

  • Strong understanding of data quality, governance, and integrity

  • Curiosity and a problem-solving mindset with attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

Compensation & Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from $73,656 to $146,289, based on experience, location, education, and internal equity. Additional benefits include:
