About the Team
The Content Data Engineering team plays a crucial role in bringing stories to life by enabling smarter decisions around content strategy. We develop scalable, reliable data products that integrate content metadata with performance insights, helping guide strategic choices company-wide.
In this role, you will work closely with Data Science and Analytics teams who depend on your data for building predictive models related to content performance. Additionally, you’ll collaborate with Finance and Strategy groups that use your datasets to assess content deals and fulfill reporting requirements.
Your Responsibilities

Develop deep expertise in streaming content, understanding key business drivers such as deal terms, viewer engagement, and financial metrics like acquisition cost, churn, and amortization

Design and build scalable data models and pipelines that evolve with changing business strategies and requirements

Focus on delivering value by treating stakeholders as customers — refining data solutions based on their feedback and usage patterns

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to innovate in measurement and metric development, including new initiatives like live events and advertising
What You Bring to the Team
Core Competencies:

Proven ability to design and implement efficient, dependable data pipelines and models

Strong curiosity about both the technical and business aspects of the domain, combined with empathy for stakeholder needs

Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex data concepts clearly to diverse audiences

Comfortable working independently in a fast-moving, dynamic environment
Technical Expertise:

Advanced skills in SQL, Python, and distributed processing frameworks such as Spark or Flink

Experience integrating and modeling data via APIs

Knowledge of cloud-based or massively parallel processing data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Vertica

Familiarity with contemporary data orchestration tools and frameworks
Compensation & Benefits
Netflix offers a flexible pay structure, allowing you to tailor how much of your total compensation comes from salary versus stock options. For this position, total compensation ranges between $170,000 and $720,000, depending on experience and market factors.
