About the Team:

The Content Data Engineering team helps bring those stories to life by enabling smarter content strategy decisions. We build scalable data products that unify content metadata and performance insights, powering strategic decisions across the company.

You’ll collaborate closely with Data Science & Analytics teams, who rely on your data to build models and analyses predicting performance of new and existing content. You’ll also work with Finance & Strategy teams who use your data to evaluate content deals and support reporting needs.


What You’ll Do:

  • Become a domain expert in streaming content and its business drivers, including deal structures, viewer behavior, and financial impact (acquisition, churn, amortization, etc.)

  • Build robust, scalable data models and pipelines to support evolving business needs and strategy

  • Design with impact, treating stakeholders as customers—iterating on data design based on usage patterns and feedback

  • Partner across teams to support innovative measurement and metric development (e.g. for new areas like live events, advertising, etc.)


What You Bring:

Core Strengths:

  • Expertise in designing and building performant, reliable data pipelines and models

  • Empathy for stakeholders and genuine curiosity about business and technical domains

  • Strong communication skills—able to clearly convey complex data topics to varied audiences

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with minimal oversight

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, and distributed computing tools (e.g. Spark, Flink)

  • Experience working with APIs to source and model application data

  • Familiarity with cloud and MPP data warehouse platforms like Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Vertica

  • Proficiency with modern data orchestration frameworks


Compensation & Benefits:

Netflix’s compensation philosophy is unique. We offer a flexible compensation structure where employees choose how much of their total package is in salary vs. stock options. The total compensation range for this role is $170,000 to $720,000, depending on your skills, experience, and market value.
