Position: Healthcare Analytics & Data Scientist

In this role, you will lead healthcare analytics initiatives, applying advanced statistical and computational methodologies to optimize healthcare outcomes, enhance the member experience, and reduce costs. You will partner across teams to provide actionable insights, create innovative solutions, and implement models to solve real-world challenges in healthcare.


Key Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis & Model Development:
    • Perform deep dives into healthcare data, uncover actionable insights, and provide recommendations to improve performance and revenue outcomes.
    • Design, develop, and validate scalable models using advanced statistical and computational methodologies.
    • Execute data science experiments methodically to drive impactful solutions across healthcare domains.
    • Perform data cleaning and validation to ensure uniformity and accuracy across datasets.
  • Strategic Analytics & Insights:
    • Lead health plan strategic analysis and planning across business units, aligning with operational goals and regulatory requirements.
    • Identify trends and opportunities in Medicaid, Medicare, and Marketplace policies to support member care and provider payments.
    • Develop and present analytical frameworks and recommendations to business partners and leadership to address gaps and optimize outcomes.
  • Collaboration & Leadership:
    • Mentor, coach, and guide team members while managing the delivery of analytical projects.
    • Partner with cross-functional teams and health plans to design and evaluate payment integrity campaigns, driving actionable recommendations.
    • Present complex analytical findings in a clear and concise manner to diverse audiences.
  • Technology & Innovation:
    • Utilize tools and languages like Hadoop, Power BI, Python, SQL, Apache Superset, and Toad Automation to extract insights and implement solutions.
    • Implement Python packages to build patient-focused population predictions and identify provider-specific activity outliers.
    • Explore large-scale, multidimensional data to develop novel approaches for feature selection and trend analysis.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience leading healthcare analytics functions.
  • 7+ years of professional experience, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies, including Hadoop, Power BI, R, Python, SQL, Apache Superset, and healthcare data science packages.
  • Strong familiarity with relational database concepts and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) principles.
  • Proven ability to apply critical thinking and solve unstructured problems effectively.

Compensation

  • Annual Pay Range: $117,731 – $275,491.
  • Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, experience, education, and skill level.

  • Standard office environment with adequate lighting and temperature.
  • Requires the ability to sit for extended periods.
