Human Resources Assistant (Remote)

Mercor is looking for a detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to help design and refine prompt-based questions used to train large language models (LLMs). In this role, your knowledge of HR administration—including onboarding, benefits, documentation, and hiring coordination—will be essential in ensuring AI-generated outputs reflect real-world HR best practices across corporate, nonprofit, and public-sector environments.

You’ll contribute to the way AI understands key HR processes such as recordkeeping, employee communication, and compliance workflows.

About the Role

What You’ll Do:

• Write, edit, and validate HR-related prompts used to train and evaluate AI models

• Leverage your experience in HR operations to ensure realism and relevance of tasks

• Evaluate AI-generated responses and select the most accurate and context-appropriate options

• Participate in asynchronous tasks and short writing evaluations to improve LLM outputs

Who We’re Looking For

You’re a great fit if you:

• Have 3+ years of experience in HR support or generalist roles (excluding payroll/timekeeping)

• Hold a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field

• Are based in the United States, United Kingdom, or Canada

• Have hands-on experience with:

  • Maintaining personnel files

  • Preparing onboarding documentation

  • Assisting with benefits enrollment

  • Responding to internal HR requests

  • Coordinating interview logistics

  • Processing employment verification

• Have excellent writing, grammar, and communication skills

• Are meticulous, organized, and detail-oriented

Role Details

• Workload: Flexible 10–20 hours/week, with potential to scale up to 40 hours

• Schedule: Fully remote and asynchronous — work when you choose

• Duration: 1–2 months minimum, with potential for extension

• Start Date: Mid to late July (applications reviewed on a rolling basis)

Interview Process

Applicants will participate in an AI-focused interview, which includes:

• Sharing your screen and composing a detailed AI training prompt for an HR scenario

• Reviewing and evaluating sample AI outputs

• Selecting the most effective and accurate response based on your HR expertise

Candidates will be selected based on the quality and accuracy of their writing and evaluations.

• You will be hired as an independent hourly contractor through Mercor

• Payments are made weekly via Stripe Connect
